Rolling with the Seasons at AlpacaLand Montana

Rolling with the Seasons at AlpacaLand Montana

The weather has been all over the place lately, shifting from cold temperatures and fresh snowfall to the kind of spring warmth that makes everything feel new again. This week on the ranch has been a true Montana rollercoaster.

We were grateful for the snow and moisture we needed, even if it isn’t staying for long. This week, we have seen a few inches of snow, then watched as it melted quickly, and today the weather forecast indicates we may seen another 3-4 inches.

Later on this upcoming week, the temperatures are supposed to climb to the 60’s and 70’s, and before long the pastures will be waking back up.

Life on the ranch does not always go according to plan, and the weather is often the one writing the schedule. But around here, we do what our alpacas do best—we adapt. One day they were happily standing in the snow, and now they are back out grazing as the last of it melts away.

Spring is arriving in its own unpredictable way, and we are welcoming every bit of it. Around here, change is just part of the rhythm, and our alpacas remind us every day how to meet it with calm, curiosity, and a good appetite.
