🌱 Adopt a Cria at Sentinel Ranch
Every spring and summer, Sentinel Ranch welcomes new life into the herd. These crias (baby alpacas) represent the future of our ranch — each with their own personality, genetics, and story.
Maybe you’ve visited the ranch and fallen in love.
Maybe there was one baby you still think about.
Or maybe you’ve followed along from afar and feel connected in a different way.
However you found us, cria adoption is a meaningful way to support their care, growth, and future — while staying connected to a baby you love.
💛 How Cria Adoption Works
Cria adoption is a shared support program, meaning multiple people may adopt the same baby. Your adoption helps provide:
✔ Daily care, nutrition, and enrichment
✔ Veterinary care and wellness monitoring
✔ Gentle handling, training, and socialization
✔ Preparation for potential future showing (for select crias)
Adoptions are symbolic and do not transfer ownership or naming rights, but they make a very real impact on the care of our alpacas.
🦙 What’s Included with Adoption:
✔ Adoption certificate
✔ Photos & updates
✔ Support for care & enrichment
✔ Optional in-person or virtual tour experience
Adoption benefits vary by level. Shared adoption supports the care of your chosen cria.

“Duke” is a strong, handsome male cria with rich bay black coloring and an impressive presence. His arrival holds deep meaning at Sentinel Ranch following the loss of his sister, Fancy Obsession, the previous year.
Contessa, Duke’s devoted dam, is nearing the end of her production years and is known for her stunning bay black fiber. Duke has clearly inherited her exceptional qualities, including super-fine fiber, beautiful crimp structure, excellent style, and a strong, balanced frame.
Because of these traits, Duke is firmly on our show list, and we’re excited to watch his future unfold.

🍼 Meet the Cria: “Mystik”
Born: June 25
Sex: Female
Color: Bay Black (with potential to mature true black)
Dam: Black Magic (True Black)
“Mystik” is a deeply meaningful female cria with bay black coloring and rare genetics. Her dam, Black Magic, is a true black alpaca — a color that is difficult to pass genetically and achieved only under specific conditions.
After many years without producing, Black Magic welcomed her first cria last season and followed with Mystik this year — making Mystik’s arrival especially significant. While her current fiber appears bay black, cria coloring often shifts with maturity, meaning Mystik may deepen into true black after her first shearing.
Mystik is currently on our show watch list, and her journey includes the important milestone of her dam’s long-awaited official registration.
💛 Why Adopt Mystik?
✔ Support for rare and valuable black genetics
✔ Daily care, nutrition, and enrichment
